ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS

John and Laura Loffredo were inspired to start The Adoption Hope Foundation after their journey through infertility and the adoption process. Laura writes:

“Our road to parenthood was not easy. My husband and I struggled with infertility for 6 years. We spent thousands of dollars. We had 8 failed fertility treatments and a miscarriage. I prayed every night for a baby and the longing inside my heart was unbearable. I didn’t understand why God was denying me the one thing I wanted more than anything in the world. I was angry, bitter and heartbroken. I couldn’t breathe. I have often referred to this time as the darkest time of my life.

When we finally made the decision to adopt, it was like a light in the darkness. I felt God’s presence every step of the way. For the first time in so long, there was hope. The first time I held my daughter in my arms when she was only a few minutes old, I was overcome with emotion. I felt 6 years of pain wash away, and at that moment, I understood the reason for everything. This little girl was always meant to be ours, it just took her a while to come to us.

Adoption is a beautiful gift. It is a life altering experience that has allowed me to feel the deepest kind of love imaginable. Not only a love for my daughter, but for her birth parents who so selflessly placed her in the loving arms of my husband and I. They wanted her to have a life that they could not give her. We so deeply wanted a child that we could not conceive. We both needed something so desperately, and we found it in each other.”



This beautiful experience is what inspired us to begin The Adoption Hope Foundation. The thought that some people would not be able to have a family simply because of the financial barrier was heartbreaking to us. And thinking about babies and children who would not be adopted simply because families couldn’t afford it was unacceptable. Through this foundation, we hope to bring many families together through the miraculous gift of adoption.
